A family company takes over a family company.
Klimmer Burgau acquires a stake in HMT GmbH.
A company with a long tradition, located in Burgau in the south of Germany, Klimmer has expanded its portfolio to include HMT – Häseler Metall Technik GmbH – of St. Georgen in the Black Forest, thereby securing 250 jobs.
HMT specialises in high-quality, professional complete solutions in the field of stamping and forming as well as cleaning and surface technology. IIn 2015, the company undertook the largest investment in their history with the commissioning of a self-designed water spray degreasing system. The St. Georgen-based company has been a supplier to renowned industrial companies for many years and achieved annual sales of €20m. in 2018. Like Klimmer, HMT mainly delivers to automotive suppliers and thus faces major challenges, as does the entire industry.
“We are ideally equipped to meet these challenges. We and HMT complement each other perfectly in terms of product portfolio and both operate as traditional companies with common values,” says Torsten Klimmer of Ernst Klimmer GmbH in Burgau, in the south of Germany. “We are pleased to take over a 90% stake in the company.” The 10% stake held by the HMT management team will remain unchanged.
Klimmer is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and specialises in fineblanking flanges, turbocharger clamps and sophisticated drawn parts. Around 330 people are employed in the company Burgau, which achieved a turnover of € 72 m in 2018.
